Castle Morpeth Disability Association Service and Facilities
CMDA has helped many elderly, disabled and
isolated people to improve the quality of their lives by providing access to
good quality service, education, advice, training and equipment. It is
controlled by an Executive committee, which by its constitution must have a
majority of its members with a disability.
Although CMDA caters for all age groups, we pay particular attention to the
needs of our elderly population who have the largest number of disabilities
across the population age range. We are also highly sensitive to diversity
issues and equal opportunities are central to all our policies. In terms of
disseminating information we can quickly arrange to supply large print
information and audio tapes fro clients with various forms of visual
impairment.
For non-English speakers we have links with the County Council and Newcastle
University so that our documents can, if necessary be translated into a number
of other languages.
Here is a short description of our current provision in the form of an
alphabetical summary. More comprehensive information can be provided on and
individual basis in total confidence simply by asking a member of staff for
further details.
